The Countdown [day#2]
Time will pass anyway — 100 days, 95 days — it moves with or without us. What matters is whether I move with it, toward something that matters. Toward values, toward strength, toward health.
Will I be a passive observer of time slipping through my fingers, or will I be an active co-author of my own story?
We can’t control everything. Honestly, maybe we control very little. But in the areas where I do have influence, I owe it to myself to show up and act in my own favor.
Here’s something that’s worked for me before — and it’s working again now:
Pro tip: Create a simple visual countdown. I’ve used many: social media series, wall calendars, sticky notes. This time, it’s a widget on my phone that counts down to the race I’ve committed to.
Every single day must count. I don’t fear the word must. If I only did what I felt like doing, self-destruction would’ve taken me out long before these 95 days could.
The countdown is more than a timer. It’s a daily check-in:
What did I do today to give my best 95 days from now?
That’s a lot of time — if I stay awake to it.
It’s worth planning for.
