When Mornings Lose Their Green [day#32]
Today I wanted to slow down a bit. Yesterday wasn’t heavy in terms of workload, but by evening I was completely wiped. Maybe I’m just fooling myself—thinking things aren’t draining me—when in fact, the stuff I used to power through is now burning me out way faster.
The color matrix I use to plan my days (absolutely golden for adults with ADHD) has been a bit off lately. I’ve had no chance to start the day with a “green” activity—something that fuels me, like a morning run or walk with the dog. For the next two weeks, training has shifted into “yellow” territory—more task-focused than energizing.
This morning I did 10 minutes of basic stretching, loosely based on yoga. It’s a small thing, but it lifted my mood just enough to make a difference.
This whole experience reminded me: maybe I should write more about the matrix itself—because it’s not just about productivity. It helps me make sense of how I feel.
Pro tip: If you’ve got ADHD or just burn out fast—make sure your morning includes something that fills you up, not just checks a box.
