True Grit Fit: Start Here

"…What I mean is that perceiving the body in the full context of physical, chemical, and mental balance offers the best solution. Some call it a holistic or comprehensive approach." – Dr. Phil Maffetone

If there’s only one piece of advice you take away from your visit here, let me get straight to it.
I’ll risk you not coming back, but at least I’ll have done something good: Go for a walk. Right now. If, for some reason, you can’t step outside, start walking right where you are. You can even simply lift your legs alternately, like marching in place. And I’ll see you in 15 minutes…

If you managed to complete that short walk or march—congratulations!
You’ve just taken your first step towards a holistic approach to your health and training. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never exercised before, are returning after a break, or are in the middle of a macrocycle preparing for your next competition. A walk will do you good—or it already has.

The concept of this blog is very simple
It’s a record of a journey—my journey back to health and, hopefully, excellent fitness that will one day allow me to run competitively in the mountains again, albeit as an amateur.

Here, you’ll find plenty of daily entries where I try to describe how I apply my new approach to strength, endurance, and mental training while taking care of my health and well-being—something I neglected in the past, being solely focused on results. Results that never came; instead, injury did.

I’m planning to launch a podcast soon, so there will be less reading and more listening. Until then, I encourage you to sign up for the newsletter to occasionally receive updates about new entries. I don’t plan to promote this blog in the coming months, especially not on social media, so the newsletter (or RSS) is the only way to stay up to date if you enjoy this place.
